Server

Norrcom offer a free onsite audit of server systems recommending area’s for attention. The most common problems we can assist our customers with are outlined below.

Maintenance

This is a common problem with server software, especially Microsoft server software. Microsoft issue regular updates, often in the security area, these should be added as soon as available. Norrcom use a variety of tools to locally and remotely monitor your server, tools such as NetSupport and GFI.

Security

Some business servers run without security software. Norrcom believe the server is the core of all systems. Security here is of paramount importance and we monitor server security and activity every week.   Norrcom always use NOD32 on our servers (unless customer has an alternative preference).

Capacity planning

The first thing that most customers know about capacity planning issues is response time problems. Norrcom monitor server usage, and report before small issues become big problems. We recommend a structured approach to planning for future growth

Infrastructure

This is the starting point for all computer systems. Most computer network infrastructures have been added to over the years, with little regard for how much is spent on servers and desktops. Norrcom believes the core infrastructure is the main building block for all systems; let our experience make your network perform as new.

Desktop

Once we conduct onsite evaluations we proceed to recommending possible areas for change.
Areas that are of most concern are:

·      Machines not up to the required specification.

·      Old levels of software.

·      Memory issues.

·      Multiple versions of same software.

·      Out of license software.
